Real Estate Property Shoot Prep

Prepare as you would for an open house

To get the best photo and video results it’s important the property is prepped the same as it would be for an open house.

Pre-Shoot Checklist

In order to get the most out of your appointment please have the property prepared as you would for an Open House. Click here to download the checklist to send to your homeowners and assistants.

To ensure we can work efficiently and stay on schedule, we strongly recommend that the property be unoccupied during the photo shoot. This includes containing pets. This is the best way to ensure no one creates shadows, appears in reflections, or can be seen in the background, through windows, etc. If the homeowner must be on-site, we ask they remain in a separate area of the home from where we’re shooting.

In some cases we may have more than one photographer on-scene. Because of this, a “move-as-we-shoot” approach is not feasible and may limit the number of images we’re able to capture.

All other service providers—including stagers, cleaners, painters, electricians, gardeners, appraisers, contractors—must be fully off-site before our arrival. We recommend completing any services the day prior to the shoot to ensure uninterrupted access to the property and the best possible media.

Payment Terms + Agreements

After the shoot is completed, we’ll send an invoice that can be paid online via credit card. All deliverables are locked until payment is received.

No deposit is required for standard services (as of 2026). However, we may require a deposit for larger or custom projects on a case-by-case basis.

Rescheduling is easy. Log into the REWS Media app or online system (use the same login/password when booking the shoot, navigate to your property, and click the “Reschedule” button to select a new day and time.

Note: If you’re rescheduling within 1-2 days of your shoot, availability may be limited. Rescheduling within 24 hours of the shoot time may incur an additional fee at our discretion.

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, the agent or anyone filling out the shoot request form on behalf of the agent gives full permission for REWS Media – and any Independent Contractors (such as photographers or assistants) REWS Media hires – to be on-site, at the property address listed on the form during the day and time agreed upon between REWS Media and the person coordinating the appointment day and time. This agreement is between REWS Media and the hiring agent, and the agent gives this authorization on behalf of any homeowner, property management person/entity, tenant, or anyone else residing at the property.

Our full licensing agreement is linked below, but here’s a summary:

Your license grants you (the contracted agent only) the right to use the media for marketing and listing the specific property. You may also use the media for your personal marketing on social media and in your portfolio.

You may not transfer, give, or sell any media to third parties without proper licensing. If another party needs to use the materials, they must obtain their own license.

REWS Media, LLC retains ownership of all media unless otherwise specified. Extended licenses are available to fit your needs—please call or email us to discuss options.

Licensing Terms

Deposit is due within 24 hours of your job request. The invoice is to be paid online, and this amount secures your appointment. Without this payment, your day/time are not secured and after multiple attempts to contact you, your appointment time may be given to another client, if requested.

The balance of your payment is due at the time of your appointment at the latest. You can pay using all major credit cards (Visa, AMEX, Mastercard). An online invoice is sent to your email following your appointment request, so you can also choose to pay online via credit card PRIOR to the shoot. If we are meeting an assistant, homeowner, or any person who is NOT responsible for making the balance payment for the shoot, arrangement must be made ahead of time for online payment. Please plan ahead.

We understand that weather and plans can change, and we are flexible with rescheduling. We just ask that you notify us by email or phone at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment time. For cancellations/reschedules with less than 24 hours notice (and non-drive to property), the $100 deposit to secure the appointment will be forfeited. If less than 24 hours notice is given AND we don’t find out that it’s being cancelled/rescheduled until we’re already en route to the property or at the property, the $100 deposit to secure the appointment will be forfeited, AND IN ADDITION the client will be billed for 30% of the total cost of the job.

NEED US TO COME OUT AGAIN?

We can return to your property on another day to re-shoot a handful of images (up to 6) for $99. This is great for properties that we have already shot and have added staging or were not prepared by the time of the photo/video shoot. Otherwise, the full price of the shoot will be invoiced.
